CSz Chicago makes students better leaders by making them better listeners. Working with a population that has yet to begin their professional careers, interpersonal skills can be underdeveloped and they may be unwilling to lead-up when dealing with Administrative mentors.
When instructing leadership, we use BE WITH for participants to model engaged listening behavior and eye-contact during conversation. SPEAK WITH gives participants an opportunity to model behaviors associated with high confidence. WORK WITH engages participants in a group discussion that models traits of “leading up”.
Specific improv-based exercises are chosen following a discussion with one of our instructional designers, but every workshop will touch on the concepts of status, commitment, and engaged listening.
